Moscow
Moscow is the capital of the biggest country in terms of size-Russia. The city has more than 10 million inhabitants and is not only the center of the Russian Federation, but also of the whole region. When planning your trip there you should consider the different modes of transportation you can use.
Trains
Trains connect the city with other cities and with the three big airports. Trains are part of Russian culture and are very well organized. The train stations are very well planned, surprisingly clean and safe. There you can buy food, something to drink and ask for information at any time during the day. The major ones are situated on the ring road that encompasses the city center. There is a special Aero Express that connects every one of the international airports with the train stations. From the train stations it is literally 50 meters to enter the metro system.
There exists a second type of trains that connect Moscow to the cities in its region. Those are mostly used by the millions of commuters who arrive in the city daily. The city is one of the most expensive ones in terms of real estate prices in the world and there are many people who might work for twenty years in the capital and commute hours every day.
Metro System
The Best Car Hire Moscow Metropoliten is one of the oldest ones in the world. The first metro started working in 1935. Roughly 2 million people travel with it daily. It is the blood line of the whole city. In comparison with other very populous cities, Moscow spreads over a lot of space. The most convenient way to get from one point to the next in the city is through the metro system. The whole city seems to be organized around the metro stations. The landmarks you use to find your way around the city is the nearest metro station. Their big red Ms on both sides of the road look like a guiding beacon for the inexperienced guest of the city.
The metro system is organized in lines. The main one is the circle line around the city center which is crossed from one end of the city to the other by the other lines. When you get into the metro system you buy one ticket and you can travel and change as many different metro trains and lines as you need in order to get where you need to get.
Busses, Trolleys, Trams
The main purpose of the busses, trolleys and trams is to connect the space between the metro stations farther from the city center. There are also free busses to the big shopping centers outside the city.
Taxi
There are official taxis and illegal ones. At almost any part of the day you can just go to the nearest main road lift your hand and get somebody to get you somewhere. There are surprisingly many drivers that make additional income by driving people around. That is a very convenient way to travel at night from 1 to 6 when the metro is closed.
You can also hire a car as the most convenient and comfortable way to go around at companies like Sixt, Hertz, Auto Europe, and Europcar.
